Hey Dmitry
On our last cruise the Russians in Vladivostok were much more welcoming than the Chinese, I don't think Chinese people like tourists very much
I liked Vladivostok there was a really nice fun fair near the beach, lots of families happy & friendly
It's funny but most of my life another obsession of mine has been the books of John Le Carre, in particular the George Smiley novels, Tinker Tailor etc
I couldn't stop thinking as I walked the streets of Vladivostok about Karla and the mole in the Circus
Congratulations, Kev! You are the first forum member who visit Russia
So it wasn't so dangerous as some people think?
I'm glad you liked Vladivostok. I've heard the Russians have the reputation of hospitable people (I mean foreign people say so), so it wasn't a suprise that people you see were much welcoming; still it is pleasure to hear about it from you.
I've never read John Le Carre but it's funny, you're right, spies etc..?
Next time before visiting Vladivostok read, for example, Vsevolod Krestovsky, Anton Chekhov
Or next time will be in Sochi or Yalta?
