I'm not familiar with the area, but I'm a firm believer of Yelp when it comes to reviews.

I'm probably responding too late, and it's been awhile since I was in DC, too, but Union Station (which has its own subway stop) has dozens of eateries, from fast food to classier, sit-down places. Plus the architecture is gorgeous.

Thanks all. I found 14th street around Rhode Island NW was pretty fruitful. Including going to Le Diplomate which was one high up on the Yelp reviews Tkitna.

Great weather too while I was there. Pity I had to work. Enjoyed the visit regardless.
