FINALLY! Men are getting what's important to women.

Bring back the codpiece, I say! (You'll need it with those super tight trousers)

John.

Paul could have never sung "I am the Walrus."

John could have sung "Oh Darling" better than Paul.

Paul couldn't have pulled off the irony in "Girl."

John could have done "A Day in the Life" without Paul but not vice versa.

John sang with his soul (at his best), Paul sang with his throat.

Course I don't know how John would have sounded on Yesterday or Hey Jude but he probably could have pulled off Lady Madonna.

I disagree, although I am sure John would have done a good job.

Paul sings Let It Be and Hey Jude with his soul in my opinion.

When it comes to Paul singing with his throat, i think i understand adamzero's point* but i disagree in the technical vocal sense that to reach those notes, you draw from the gut. lennon has a mid-treb tone and McCartney has a warmer woollier bass tone.

*I'm imagining the Little Richard screamers here.

Not in any disrespect i say this AZ, i love your posts.

I think I may have posted on a thread like this before. All their voices have quality, My fave? Too tough but ringo is out of it....Sorry amigo.

Lennon's tearing, heartfelt vocals are unsurpassed and yet Macca can dance the musical pallette with ease. George could be the most sensitive singer of them all though. :-/

What a combination. ;)

I think all The Beatles had  " Soul " even Ringo , he's got a lovely soulfull voice just like mine ;D

John had an amazing recording voice ,one of the best ever , but he had a ropy live voice, his voice in that arena became fragile early on it was'nt built for smoky clubs or trying to scale the clammer of screaming fans. He also did'nt take care of it ,f**s and drugs were not good for it.
Paul as a great recording voice, a little to tricksy sometimes , but when he sang straight on songs like  " Fool On The Hill ", he could come very close to Lennon ?
In the live arena Paul's voice as stood the test of time , all though the cracks are now showing , but it did give him 40 years good service.
And  " Wings Over America " prove i feel he had the best allround voice . Which is why i voted for him . Having said that John really does sound the best on The Beatles recordings :)
It's a close call for me.
And i really like George 's voice  it's very underratted i love how he melds it with his guitar . :)

What a combination. ;)

And that's the crux of it. They've each got distinctive qualities which produces both diversity and a wonderful blend when working together. It was magic.

^Haha, that's how it is for me with Paul!  ;D Nice post

I voted for Paul, although I do love all of their voices so much. Paul's voice just really has a ton of variety, I once heard someone on this forum (can't remember who it was) say that he's "the man of a thousand voices". He can do things like Here, There and Everywhere, or Yesterday, and then do something like Oh Darling or Long Tall Sally. His voice just seems so flawless and clear. It really appeals to my taste, I love it so much.

I love Paul's voice because it's so deep and enchanting. he has this sweet smooth sound.
I love John second thought because his voice is so haunting and clear.

Didn't we do at least two of these before?

One more time, then!  I like Paul's voices the best.  After all, he is the "Man of a Thousand Voices."
