Normandie-  there were multiple on eBay so I didn't steal the only one you may look for :)

:)  I was lucky to find it from a domestic seller (not on eBay). It should be here in 3 days. . . We'll see.

I also found a DVD of the Complete Beatles, converted to DVD from laser disk, I used to have an old VHS of it, not sure if I still do.

That's next on my list!

But now I won't have lustrous copper highlights in my hair.  :(    ;D

You'll have Paul's luxurious locks to admire instead.

. . .  have ordered a copy of the original Let It Be DVD. Not a bootleg, and no outtake disc, but I got a good price.

OK, this just arrived, and it is a bootleg, which annoys me because according to the seller's listing it's an original.  >:(  Still, I'll take what I can get. I'll watch it as soon as I get caught up a bit and can enjoy it without stressing about multiple deadlines.

Update: Arrgh; of course this was never released on DVD, so I shouldn't have been surprised this was a bootleg. I've been too wrapped up in work lately!

I think I made a similar mistake when I bought mine about fifteen years ago. I wasn’t as up to date on what had been officially released. So I bought it off eBay and Lo and behold, when it arrived, it was a bootleg.

You can open a dispute and ask for a refund (if you want one) The seller has to pay return postage.

In my case I didn’t mind that much. It wasn’t too expensive and it was the only way I was going to see it.

Nimrod and Moogmodule, you are both correct. I probably won't pursue a refund -- caveat emptor, and all that. I'm curious to, and a bit ambivalent about, the quality of the recording.

Watch the DVD first, Kathy.  You might be pleasantly surprised.  Remember, the movie was shot on 16mm film and transferred to 35mm for theatrical release in 1970.  The original motion picture was not of excellent quality.  But I feel it lent charm to the viewing experience when I first saw it in the theater.  My DVD is of similar quality to what I saw in the theater.  Yours should be too.

I don't think the original Let It Be movie will ever be remastered and released on DVD.  Paul and Ringo were always opposed to its re-release.

I will indeed. I'm going to hold off for a bit until I can actually relax and watch it.  :)

And you'll enjoy it just the way it is, I'm sure.

The seller was correct in listing your DVD as "original."  It's the original 1970 Let It Be movie and not the Get Back documentary.

I beg to differ. The seller should have specified that the disc was a bootleg of Let It Be. It's pretty clear it's not "Get Back."  Although, who knows what the general public expected.

To clarify, I was referring to the seller from whom I bought my copy of Let It Be, not the seller you originally mentioned, Barry. I'm staring down multiple deadlines, and my stress level has been off the charts. I was typing too fast last night.

Selling bootlegs is illegal.
Some famous artists sued someone for selling a bootleg CD on ebay recently, cant remember who it was. Your seller is taking a big risk.

Edit. Just remembered , it was Clapton.

This is very thoughtful piece by an English author on the film.

^^^^^^^
That's the best article on the series that I've read so far. The headline—"The Banality of Genius"—is sublime.

I enjoyed the author's insightful observations, in particular about John and George Martin. I'm going to print this out so I can have it on hand to refer to as I rewatch the series.

That's a great one. I also liked this:

"In a dream, you decide to fly and you fly and it doesn’t even seem odd that you can fly. When I say the Beatles didn’t know what they were doing, that’s what I mean."

And now we know the young man to whom Paul was showing how to write songs was a clapboard operator.  :)  How great would that job have been?

I wonder if anyone has tried to see if he’s still around. He looks like maybe 17 of 18 so would be only in his late 60s now.

I think I found him: Paul Bond. Looks like he's about 76. https://www.nme.com/features/get-back-beatles-doc-whos-who-glyn-johns-mal-evans-3106956

Here's his iMDb profile: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0094010/

And a bit more on him here: https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/the-beatles-get-back-non-beatles-went-great-things.html/

Nice detective work Normandie. Interesting that in the cheat sheet article on who went on to good things after the film they leave out Alan Parsons.
