Underrated/Overrated....
« on: May 04, 2006, 12:04:43 PM »

A lot of this type of discussion goe son for some reason. A lot of Beatles fans seem to think that some of the most popular songs are overrated. Yet, songs such as "Imagine" and "Yesterday" seem top be very popular amongst the general public and are often covered by other artists. Do you think that Beatles fans tend to regard these songs as 'Overrated" simply because we, being fans, have heard them a million times? Or is there another reason?

I dont really like it when people claim they are Beatles fans but the only songs they know are Yesterday, Hey Jude, Yellow Submarine..ect. that probably contributes to why those aren't my favourite songs. But I dont think any Beatles song is overrated.

I hate those words. The computer censor that won't let me say girl private should replace them with "I don't/like this very much."
I'm not a fan of Beatles For Sale, and have said so, but if I said it was overrated I'm implying that those who do like it have some kind of taste-deficency. That would be rather presumptious of me.
But if someone said it was the greatest album of all time....oh I don't know.
