Honestly, you can not go wrong with a Kinks album on the whole, but I thought they started to drip a little starting with 'Lola versus Powerman'.

I really didn't like that album, and it sold very badly considering the success of Lola. Love Muswell Hillbillies though.

Considering the quality of their 60's albums they did'nt really have a great deal of success with their albums in either the UK or the USA , were they considered a singles band in the 60's ?

I think they were Dave. Though I've always been surprised at the lack of sales for 'Lola versus Powerman'. You'd have thought that even if it was a turkey it would have charted due to the success of the single. Very odd.

I have all their albums from the 60's & 70's. best ones i recommened is Village Green Presevation Socity,
Face to Face, Something Else by the Kinks and Arthur (or decline of the British Empire).
in the case of the 70's i should think Muswell Hillbillis, Low Budget, Sleepwalker & Misfits.
