Went to a parent/teacher social tonight in Beverly Hills. Beautiful house, but what a weird night. This town is bizarre. I wonder about people sometimes. Plastic. I'm bummed by human nature at the moment.

Here's one of my favorite bits of Beverly Hillbillies dialogue:

Granny: Elly May done popped the buttons off her shirt again!
Jed: Elly May carries herself proud with her shoulders throwed back.
Granny: It ain't her shoulders that have been poppin' these buttons!

And that made it on the air!

Now I spent some time growing up in North Carolina. I've always thought that drawl was the nicest of all. We moved back to Queens when I was five.

Now down there I learned to say "Uh-huh" and "Nuh-uh." So in Kindergarten Mrs. Zimpbaum (you remember her) said to me "Now Barry, when you want to say 'yes,' say 'yes' and not 'uh-huh'. OK? You'll do that for now on, right?"

And so I answered "Uh-huh!"

It was fun messin' with her!

You were in BH, Sondra! Plastic is to be expected there!!

That said, I'm not fond of wealthy SoCal neighborhoods. I wound up at a college party in Newport Beach once and it was such a bad experience. The neighborhood was "nice" but a lot of the kids were just glassy-eyed snots.

I wish I had a teacher who was a Beatles fan. I think my French teacher might be a Beatles fan because she mentioned them twice and she hummed Michele once in class, I'll have to ask her.

^I don't have any teachers for Beatles fans... I don't think. I have a British lady for an English teacher and she sort of questioned my tase in music because I said my favorite band is The Beatles.

Oh, and there's this sort of cute guy in my gym class who was wearing a Beatles shirt, so I had to comment on it. =D

That sounds like something I would do! LOL

I went to another horse show today and took 4th in poles and 5th in barrels! I am soo proud! And this was with all of the big timers. I'll post pics after I upload them!
