The first thing I thought when I woke up this morning was that when I'm working on something in a word doc. as soon as I open it up I should do SAve as and then any changes I make and then regret won't be lost. Don't know why that entred my head then or why it'd nvere occured to me before.

Who knew making homemade quiche would result in a Thanksgiving-like mess in my kitchen? Oh well; it was fun to make and it smells pretty good baking.  :)

Earlier this year I posted a bunch of lists on a Beach Boys forum. A few weeks later I got a message from a well-known rock writer, asking if he could use those lists for his new Beach Boys book. I thought he just wanted to use a bit of the information, but when I got the book in last week, it turned out that the last chapter is almost entirely a one on one copy of my forum post (which I'm credited for in the book).  ;yes

I wanted to go to the last date in Liverpool, but unfortunately those tickets were scooped up by the usual bastards who buy tickets for a really coveted event and put them on Ebay for double the price the next day...  we looked, and about two whole blocks of the Echo Arena are on there for something ridiculous.  Makes me sick, especially when I myself have missed out on gigs as a kid because it's sold out to idiots trying to make money by doing this - I can't afford to pay nearly £200 to see a band I like, so people automatically can't go see their fave bands just because of idiots trying to make profit at their expense...  hate it!!  I ended up getting Manchester tickets for the day before though, so I managed to get in there after all.

Ohhhhh -- I think I've heard of that! Wouldn't that be illegal? Maybe I'm out of date -- and I'm also in the States, where the laws might be different -- but I thought it was illegal to "scalp" tickets, that is, buy them at the regular rate and them sell them to someone else at a higher rate.

It's a bit of a dodgy area; it is illegal in a certain way, but there's nothing to stop people selling tickets they've bought for themselves.  I've had to do it myself, when I've bought tickets to a gig I intended on going to, and then found myself unable to go, so I've put them on Ebay for someone else to have, although for the same price as I bought them for, so I didn't fleece someone out of their money.  It can be very hard to keep tabs on, although they have been talking here in the UK about changing the law so that you have to bring ID to the gig with you to prove that you're the original buyer of the tickets.  Therefore, if your name and credit card aren't the ones on the original purchase, you can't get in!
