As if 2020 hasn't been bad enough, now we have Asteroid 2018VP1 headed right at us with a 1 in 240 (0.41%) chance of striking the earth on November 2nd.  Will it be another Chicxulub impactor?









No, it's only about 2 meters in diameter.  That kind of asteroid just doesn't have the girth for large-scale damage.

My older daughter and I got into a heated (but ultimately civil) text exchange the other day about the upcoming election. She detests one candidate; I'm convinced the other would drag the U.S. even farther down into its cesspool. It occurred to me that, on that basis, one can't really tell which of us supports whom.  ha2ha

I agree, and I understand, too. But now the ads are interspersed with the text in people's posts, making it difficult to locate what they have posted.   :(

Ugh; I couldn't agree more. This has been a horrible year. And "mess" is the perfect descriptor of the U.S. right now. From the comments on news sites I've read online, it doesn't look like things are going to get better anytime soon. The country seems more divided than ever.

the news here in Australia is dominated by the US election.
People protesting screaming and shouting at each other I have no idea why people will do this during an election, people in Arizona wandering around with guns.
You don't see this in any other first world country.
Hardly any news about Australia, mind you, nothing much ever happens here ...Australia is very boring  ha2ha
