Sorry, Dave; I didn't see this 'til now! North Dakota has been known to get snow in July I think, although it hasn't happened while I've been here. We did have a scary blizzard (scary in that it involved almost total white-out conditions) here in September a few years ago. And we got 18 inches in 12 hours in April back in 2013. Nothing yet this year, though!

What a gorgeous fall day we're having! I'm glad because there's school kids all over the village raking leaves and doing other yard work as part of their community service program. When I left for lunch they were pulling weeds for us at the library.

You know, the leaves never really looked that great here this year. A friend who took a trip to the Adirondacks area said the leaves were much more vibrant than these dulls ones here. As I looked around I saw orange trees and half naked green ones. It's like the red ones didn't work this year!

Last year was the worst color year for us. Right at peak color a nor'easter blew in for 3 days and took off all the leaves!

I lost count Barry! But no matter how bad it was here Buffalo had it much worse. We were actually up there on November 18th, the day the big storm hit. We were lucky to get out. There wasn't a bit of snow here when we arrived back a few days later.

We're also getting the kind of precip you don't have to shovel tonight.

It's a gorgeous, sunny day here, in the mid-60s. I'm ready for a blizzard! (Did I really just type that?)

I'm always anxious for the first snowfall or two, then I get cranky and ready for summer. Every year!

Here's what it looked like just east of Buffalo a year ago today. Another band of lake effect snow came in after this. It was a lot better when I was there today! (Sorry it's so narrow.)
