Many years ago, a competition was held to settle the score between three legendary rock and roll vocalists. The contestants were Robert Plant, Mick Jagger, and John Lennon. They decided not to have a singing contest because their vocal styles were very different from each other. Instead, they would see who could walk across water.
Mick Jagger drew the shortest straw and began walking off the pier into the Atlantic ocean; after a few steps, he sank like a stone (no pun intended!)
Robert Plant was next and he surprisingly walked about 50 yards onto the Atlantic, turned and slowly came back to shore, as Zeppelin fans went wild.
They were soon silenced, however, when John strolled in a very cool fashion out on the Atlantic for about 400 yards, turned and walked back to shore. Beatle fans saluted him with deafening cheers.
Afterwards, Robert said to John, "I feel kinda bad for Mick. We should have told him about the stepping stones."
"What stepping stones?" replied John.
