Do you agree with those picks, Kathleen?

Hmmmm....I agree with Nos. 6 ("The After Hours" [a favorite]), 4 ("Night Call"), 3 ("Nightmare at 20,000 Feet [which was hilariously spoofed by Saturday Night Live]), and 1 ("Living Doll").

Why does nobody ever include "The Dummy" on their list? That one creeps me out most of all.

I've never understood why people list No. 7 ("Little Girl Lost") as one of the creepier ones. The little girl's voice is annoying, and my kids and I always mimic it and then proceed to skip the episode in lieu of a creepier one.

But any original Twilight Zone is good!

I agree.  But anyway, that episode was borrowed from heavily for Poltergeist.

So that's why it always seemed a little familar! I never made that connection.

Rod Serling was a genius.

He was indeed.

Do you have a favorite TZ, Barry?

My favorite episode has always been The After Hours, Kathleen.  Superb acting by Anne Francis and the others and Mr. Armbruster's double-take in the closing moments make it a memorable episode.

I spent the afternoon on the Queen Mary Kelley when I was recently in Long Beach, very fascinating ship with lots of history.
We met an Australian couple who were staying on there (its a hotel) and I tell you what those corridors where the cabins are are very dark & creepy, not sure Id want to sleep on there, $300 a night for an inside cabin so quite expensive.
I went down to the isolation ward, there was only me in there and stood and thought of all the people who had died in that small place.
Felt quite eerie.
She took 15000 US soldiers back to America after WWII, decks were very crowded but happy to be going home.

Omigosh, I am SO jealous, Kevin! I would LOVE to see the Queen Mary in person. My father and his wife were just out there (near Long Beach), and they didn't visit (!!!).

I have heard it is haunted. I normally would ignore such rumors, but a prominent ocean liner expert and former friend of mine (we've lost touch) used to work there and said he really does believe it is haunted, and he is not the kind to say such a thing lightly.

I saw in a documentary once that the QM collided with a smaller ship, the Curacao, during WWII. I think that was the source of the hauntings. I should really get a book on the ship. (And what a coincidence -- my Barnes & Noble member coupons just came in!)

I've heard even brunch there is a wonderful experience. I've also heard that she's in quite bad shape and that repairs would amount to an almost total overhaul. Perhaps you can shed more light on the subject, Kelley!

I hope you and your wife are enjoying your travels, Kevin.

Whilst I dont really believe in ghosts Kathy those corridors are so dark and dingy, I can imagine being awake at 3 am and feeling very spooked out, especially if the other cabins were mainly empty.  :o

I don’t think they touched on that, Kathy. My favorite part was the color footage of her maiden voyage on May 27, 1936.

She took 15000 US soldiers back to America after WWII, decks were very crowded but happy to be going home.

They interviewed two of the soldiers who had gone over and back on the ship, as well war brides who came over after the war. Lots of cribs were set up on board!

She looked in quite good shape to me, inside is magnificent and theyre slowly re-painting outside
Just a lovely ship, thank god she was saved, was headed for the scrapyard at one point.
Actually this is my 2nd visit to the QM. I went aboard in 1981 when I lived in LA.

That sounds like an interesting program, Kelley; I should keep a sharper eye out for them.

Whew; I am so relieved she will not be headed to the scrapyard.

Thank you both for sharing.  :)

It was on the Smithsonian channel Kathy and will be again in August. There’s a lot of stuff on YouTube. I don’t know how good that stuff is but it’s there!

I didn’t realize that was her singing throughout the movie or that there was a record. LOL But the moment I saw the word Lolita it got stuck in my head.
