random Lovely Rita noise

Ive always wondered what the hells that random noise after Paul sings "Nothing can come between us"....I love it, It just cracks me up all the time

If it's the section I'm thinking of, I think it's some sort of harmonica. John was very impressed with the way Brian Wilson used this instrument on Pet Sounds and sued it on this track. I think there are some pics taken at the Pepper sessions of John playing a bass harmonica - it's huge!

HAHAHAHA OMG, me too! i didn't know if anyone else ever noticed that! i always laugh, and my sister gives me a funny look hahahaha

I think it's not a bass harmonica. The pitch is high.

I think it involved blowing on combs covered with toilet papers to produce the kazoo-like tones..I'm not really sure if they used harmonica.

You're correct, Magic.  The noise they are referring to isa the tissue paper/comb effect.  And it's perfect.

you've heard John making a pop noise with his mouth and finger too I assume? That always tickled me lol

There's also a funky noise immediately before "standing by a parking meter"
