Thursday marked a year since Molly arrived.
Wow; I can't believe it's been a year already!
We celebrated by taking her to Ithaca yesterday to visit Kelsie. She got to walk by a waterfall at a state park and go to the arboretum at Cornell. It was her first big trip and she really loved it. What a difference since last year!
I bet you all loved Ithaca. I grew up so close to there, and then went to college nearby, but I never took the chance to explore it.
On a weather-related note, we drove into a huge thunderstorm with torrential rain on the way home. All of our phones started screeching because there was a tornado warning but we were heading away from it. I don’t think anything touched down, fortunately.
Yikes! My daughter and her boyfriend drove down to his mom's place in Iowa, and they actually saw a funnel cloud, although it didn't touch down. I do not miss those days from living in Missouri. Tornadoes terrify me. Luckily my ex showed me cloud formations that portend them (e.g., wall clouds) and things to look for on radar (e.g., a bow echo), but being in a car was always the scariest, especially because there's no place to go! And lying flat on the ground with my hands over my head does not sound that appealing.
I'm glad you all had a good trip and made it home safely.
