Listening to Ringo’s latest EP I think it’s a good EP.

That is one scary-looking puppet, Barry. It gives Lady Elaine Fairchilde (the stuff of many a Gen X-er's nightmares) some serious competition.

That's the first movie I remember seeing, Kathy. I was three years old and so the scenes with the puppets I remember vividly.  Seeing the movie as an adult, I fully understood this story of a sixteen year-old recently orphaned girl coming of age in the circus that took her in and what those puppets meant.

The movie was based on the novelette Love of Seven Dolls...

The novelette was a pleasure to read and the motion picture, a musical, was offbeat for its era.  Superb acting by the cast, especially Leslie Caron who was perfect for the part...

Pete Townshend turned 79 today (May 19). I would not have gotten through adolescence without him.

This song actually has a spiritual meaning, much like "The Sea Refuses No River" from All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes.

He's so graceful!

And John "Rabbit" Bundrick's skill on the keyboards never fails to amaze me.

I liked that song when it came out.

It was the perfect closing credits song for Look Who's Talking...

I personally  find that particular use crass. IMO it takes away from the beautiful intent of the song.

“This was a song about love, but this is actually about divine love. It’s supposed to be about the power of God’s love, that when you’re in difficulty, whether it’s major or minor, God’s love is always there for you.”

Well, Kathy, I certainly didn't find Peter Townshend's use of his song in the closing credits of the film "crass" at all.  As far as "divine love" and spirituality goes, Look Who's Talking tells the story of a troubled single unwed mother who by chance meets a man who bonds with her child and soon comes to love the boy as his own.  Indeed, the first words spoken by the boy in their presence is "Dada."  She soon falls in love with him and they marry thus providing the boy with a loving upbringing.

I wish every sad story like this can have such a happy ending.  The closing credits show the miracle of fertilization of an ovum and conception of what will be the boy's half-sister.  And thus, I consider this an example of "divine love" and an appropriate use of Let My Love Open The Door.
