I've been thinking how great would be a sequel album for the Beatles' multiplatinum "
1". In the case of another monster act, Elvis Presley, after the success of "Elv1s: 30 #1 Hits", RCA released "Elvis 2nd To None", a year later. It comprised Elvis' hit singles that never reached #1. I guess it would be great to have something similar for The Beatles. Because my english is terrible, I can't figure a good title for the album, "2nd To None" was a great title for the Elvis case. But my idea was to include other Beatles singles that were #1 outside the UK and the US, or in other charts from those countries.
Here's my tracklisting
01: Please Please Me (#1 in Melody Maker)
02: I Saw Her Standing There (#1 in Australia)
03: Do You Want To Know A Secret (#2 in Billboard, but a #1 for Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas in Melody Maker)
04: Twist And Shout (#1 in Cashbox)
05: All My Loving (#1 in Australia & Canada, #2 in Norway)
06: Roll Over Beethoven (#1 in Australia, #2 in Canada)
07: Long Tall Sally (#1 in Sweden)
08: I Should Have Known Better (#1 in Australia Canada & Norway)
09: If I Fell (#1 in Norway & Australia)

12: Nowhere Man (#1 in Australia, Record World & Canada)
13: Norwegian Wood (#1 in Australia, Double A-side with Nowhere Man)
14: Michelle (#1 in France, Holland, Norway, #5 in Germany)
15: Rain (#1 in Canada)
16: Got To Get You Into My Life (#1 in Canada RPM in 1976)
17: Strawberry Fields Forever (#1 in Melody Maker, Canada, Holland, Norway, Australia, #4 in France)
18: With A Little Help From My Friends (a #1 in the version of Joe Cocker in the UK, and also a UK #1 in 1988 when was performed by Wet Wet Wet -
a personal note: this was the #1 single in the UK exactly when I was born, yay! )
19: Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (a #1 in the version of Elton John in 1975 in the US)
20: She's Leaving Home (a #1 for Billy Bragg & Cara Tivey in the UK in 1988 when was released as a Double-A side with Wet Wet Wet's "With A Little Help From My Friends)
21: A Day In The Life (#1 in France in 1970!)
22: Magical Mystery Tour (the EP for Magical Mystery Tour was #1 in Melody Maker, so I think the title track deserves to be considered "a #1 hit")
23: I Am The Walrus (#1 in Australia Goset --- Goset, what the hell is that?
)
24: Revolution (#1 in Australia)
25: Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da (#1 in Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, #5 in Holland)
26: While My Guitar Gently Weeps (#1 in Australia Goset -- again...)
27: Don't Let Me Down (#1 in Canada, Switzerland)
28: For You Blue (#1 in Billboard, remember? this is the only one 'UK/US #1 single' that wasn't included in "1"!)
29: Free As A Bird (#2 everywhere!! Dear God, this stunning comeback track did not reached #1 in any country of the whole world??
)
30: Real Love (the same with the above. Never a #1, anywhere?)
Well, those are all the #1's I found. My sources are:

http://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39516&highlight=beatles+internationalSo what you think? Like the idea? I know there are crappy tracks, like Rock And Roll Music or Long Tall Sally. I mean, it's all great music, but not very representative in the Beatles catalogue. Also I know there are big misses.
Any other addition to the list of non-US/non-UK #1 singles will be really appreciated. Also please give some name for this compilation. I don't know what title could be good for it!
What you think, DaveRam? I created this thread specially thinking about you, I know you can help, you're really good for this stuff.
Thanks for read!
