Just been watching this youtube film of T.rex playing in the studio , looks like some kind of rehersal, maybe for the London shows that Ringo filmed .
I had not seen this before , but it shows what a good guitar player Bolan was , which i think was often not evident when he was playing up to the screaming girls during their live concerts ?
Mind you even in the studio you can see he was a born performer ?

I think The Pretty Things touched upon GLAM with their 'Silk Torpedo' album.

Agree , both Bowie and Brian Ferry released cover's albums in 1973 which showed their debt to 60's bands and style.

I know it was a lot of silly dressing up Glam Rock , but at least as kids we got proper bands that played ?
I 've very fond memories of this time .
 T.rex - The Slider (1972) i still play to this day .

Brought back memories for me too. I'd forgotten how good Slade were. I was more into Prog at the time, so the only band I really paid much attention to was T-Rex. Slider is excellent Dave, but do you think it's better than Electric Warrior?

^^^^^Think "The Slider" is more Glam Rock BlueMeanie , much like Ziggy Stardust is.
But both Electric Warrior and Hunky Dory by Bowie and T.rex from 1971 are musically superior albums , they both have that 60's hangover feel which is where both Bolan and Bowie cut their teeth ?
Yes Slade really do sound great ,that Noddy could really sing , he had one of the best vocies of the 70's ?

It seem,s to have been a total male thing - I can't think of a single female act (and no Bowie jokes.)
I think it was cool at the beginning, but I'm not overly impressed with the likes of The Glitter Band, Sweet or Mud.
Howzabout Roxy Music? More arthouse maybe (is that a genre?) Now they were the business.

Not really Glam Rock , but Hawkwind  Silver Machine (1972) had that feel and the girl in this promo is glam ?
When i was a bad boy doing drugs in the early 90's , i remember driving down Blackpool's golden mile hanging out of the sunroof, off my head to this , i was'nt driving lol

Queen was Glam. Freddie himself said it.

And of the modern ones it`s a solo singer, Lady Gaga.
