I didn’t know Lawerence Welk had this type of music on his show. I would have enjoyed hearing his intro.

Aww, you found it, Barry. Thanks! They sure looked nervous, like they weren’t certain how they’d go over.

I guess Lawrence Welk kept an open mind when it came to fine music.  Here's the original Riders In The Sky...

1949

In 1961 he presented one of his guitarists, Neil LeVang, who played this haunting version...

Which was before The Ventures did it, also in 1961...

I just watched Episode 58 of Hollywood A Go Go which aired on 5 February 1966...

...which featured The Everly Brothers, The Byrds, Bob Lind, James Darren, Freddie "Boom Boom" Cannon and, of course, The Gazzarri Dancers.  Look for The Bantam Kids doing I Should Have Known Better with their younger sister, Brenda, doing a good job as a Gazzarri Dancer.

We were lucky to have shows like this in The 60s!

The Lovin' Spoonful on Hollywood A Go Go...

https://youtu.be/h4MprZk1xj4

If you believe in magic don't bother to choose
If it's jug band music or rhythm and blues
Just go and listen it'll start with a smile
It won't wipe off your face no matter how hard you try
Your feet start tapping and you can't seem to find
How you got there, so just blow your mind!

I was in love with The Gazzarri Dancer in the striped top.  ;)

I was in love with The Gazzarri Dancer in the striped top.  ;)

And my cousin was in love with the autoharp player in the striped shirt. Every time we pretended we were grownup with boyfriends he was hers.

I thought this was pretty interesting, and impressively accurate:

I thought this was pretty interesting, and impressively accurate:

When I saw Rami Malek on Jimmy Kimmel’s show I thought “Not a bit like Freddie”. Like you said earlier, he looked too small (although I looked it up and he is only an inch shorter). But when I saw a clip from the film I was amazed!

It's interesting how a good actor can transform into the the person he is portraying...

Well, in the side-by-side Live Aid clips I believe they were trying to show in real time how accurately the band members reproduced each Queen member's exact, specific physical actions during their set.
