Yep, it sure does. I get amused (or irritated, depending) when I see bands so blatantly mimicking the Beatles.

That said...the Monkees really irritate me!!

Pete Townshend has acknowledged that he was blatantly and purposefully copying The Kinks with The Who's first single, "I Can't Explain". I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he did the same with "The Kids Are Alright" and The Beatles.

I went out in the rain again and listened to "Paperback Writer" and "Rain". There!

For the record, I don't automatically hate bands that copy the Beatles...it's just that I've never liked the Monkees.

Here's a good Beatlesque song, and I definitely don't hate Badfinger.

George Harrison produced several Badfinger songs, but Tony Visconti produced Maybe Tomorrow which was released on Apple Records.

Tony Visconti married Mary Hopkin in 1971. It's a small world.
