;D

Two other songs Ian Buchanan taught me are...

Reverend Gary Davis - Cocaine Blues

That Will Happen No More (Blind Blake, April 1927) [Remastered]

You have great tastes in Blues music Hello Goodbye, you do know your Blues. I LOVE THE SONG "Cocaine Blues" by REV. GARY DAVIS! This would be one of the songs that would inspire ERIC CLAPTON to record his rendition of "Cocaine." Here's one by SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON WITH THE YARDBIRDS!

Sonny Boy Williamson and The Yardbirds - Highway 49

You gotta love the lyrics to That'll Never Happen No More...

I met a girl at the cabaret,
Said, "pretty papa I'm goin' your way. "
Her man know what it all about.
Waiting at home just to throw me out.
Broke my nose, split my chin.
" Don't let me catch you here again. "
He whipped me from the kitchen back to the door.
He beat me with the chair till my head got sore.

That'll never happen no more.
That'll never happen no more.

The wind in Chicago, winter and fall,
Is what caused me to wear my overalls.
Got broke, was my fault.
Been used to eating porkchops and meat and salt.
I met a woman, just a pigmeat some.
Bit fatmouth-me followed her.
She pulled a gun, take my joint.
Didn't leave me hard on, didn't get sore.

That'll never happen no more.
That'll never happen no more.

Those are typical Blues lyrics Hello Goodbye, what do you think of the lyrics to the following song that the late great ROBERT JOHNSON wrote about the devil? Here it is.

BOB DYLAN turned it into a Folk Blues song, I love the way he did that.

On some of those old recordings, they had to.  The wax record blanks limited recordings to between two and three minutes

ha2ha If THE BEATLES were around in the 1920's, they would be singing "Mammy" like the late great AL JOLSON!

Here's one from THE KNACK, remember this one?

Ha ha! Yeah...it reminds me of football games. It was one of our fight songs, with "Mighty Warriors" substituted for "My Sharona".

Currently marveling at King Crimson's ability, as such an experimental and 'unorthodox' band, to create such beautifully crafted and well-rounded songs as this.
