And it looks like no one voted on the Sunday Bloody Sunday one.
This goes back to when I liked U2.

I used to like Sweet, when I was in seventh grade. (Or is it THE Sweet?)
But The Sweet redeemed themselves with that 1974 version of Fox On The Run.
But here's Scorpion's cover of The Sweet's Fox On The Run. It's about a real fox chased by hunters for her pelt...
Thanks for reviving the thread, Kelley!
I never heard the one by Barry and the Tamerlanes until now but I like it better. It seems like a transition between the doo wop sound and what was on the horizon. It's fun to find something new, especially from 1963. That was a good year for me.

Now, both of these songs were in the US Billboard Hot 100 fifteen years apart reaching #4 and #6 respectively...http://youtu.be/_-QQI6lb_Hghttp://youtu.be/xOof_L8mPpc
Two happy songs. The one by Stonewall Jackson has good deep harmonies to make a contrast; but the other by ABBA is excessively happy to me. Thus, I vote for the song from 1959.
Well, I guess Stonewall Jackson was trying to cheer things up after this song by The Kingston Trio a year before...
^Time passes slowly in the boonies, m'am. I reckon you were also gettin' songs like this'n...
Yes! But then Pa hooked up the FM antennae and I got to listen to a real swell station from Buffalo...day and night!
