We had our first frost advisory last night. The inevitable Arctic temps and screaming winds aren't too far behind.

Yes, about an hour north. Fargo has the best shopping in the state. Thank God for Amazon. . .    (I still haven't watched the movie Fargo, BTW)

My son moved to Melbourne 3 years ago and is always complaining about the weather. I keep telling him, move back to Queensland

My father keeps encouraging me to move, too, and I would, except for the fact that over the course of a nearly 20-year marriage we bought five different houses in 4 different states, constantly moving for my ex's job. That doesn't include hotel and apartment stays while waiting for a house. It was hard to maintain a consistent social support network. I have one now, and I'm reluctant to let it go. But the temperatures and winds, and the North Dakota culture (or lack thereof), are wearing me down.

Oh, yikes, Kelley! No, I had not seen that, and I have not heard of that storm. I'll have to look it up. Thanks for sharing that.

That picture shows the highest of the snow drifts of the March 1966 blizzard.  The actual snowfall totals in North Dakota was in the 20 - 30 inch range with some spots as high as 38 inches.
