^^ Really? Wow. lol

When Paul was about 13 I think he thought he would be drafted, but he couldn't kill. So him and his brother would stick frogs through the barbed wire fence. (if this is incorrect please tell me!)

The voltures in Disneys The Jungle Book were based on The Beatles and they were asked to do a song for the film but they refused.

I thought they were happy to do it, but their schedule just didn't have any more room. So it never ended up working out.

That's what I read somewhere once.

Really? Those vultures used to creep me out, if I recall correctly. :P

Found this random tidbit on Wikipedia:

Rhodium has been used for honours, or to symbolize wealth, when more commonly used metals such as silver, gold, or platinum are deemed insufficient. In 1979 the Guinness Book of World Records gave Paul McCartney a rhodium-plated disc for being history's all-time best-selling songwriter and recording artist.

Wow!! A rhodium disc? Never heard of such a thing, but... Go, Paul!  ;D  ;yes

Something I noticed myself that I found quite surprising: There are several statues of John Lennon in Cuba.

A few years ago, Record Collector magazine made a list of the most valuable records in the world.

On #1: the sole original copy of That'll Be The Day b/w In Spite Of All The Danger, by The Quarry Men. Estimated value: 100,000 pounds.

On #2: the replicas that Paul had made of aforementioned record. Estimated value: 10,000 pounds each.

That's confusing. You mean they stuck frogs through the fence instead of killing them, or they stuck frogs through the fence to avoid being drafted?

That's just too funny. xD (I don't mean this in a homophobic way... it's just a funny thing to imagine)

i just learned the other day that punk group the Ramones got their name from Paul McCartney's alias of Paul Ramone which he used in the Silver Beatles and later when he'd check into hotels to hide his identity

The Beatles set somewhat of a trend by naming themselves after an animal but with an intentional misspelling. Among their "followers" were The Byrds and The Turtles, who were originally called The Tyrtles (no joke!).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Beatles the only band with an alternative name that everyone knows? Obviously shortened forms of the original name don't count - like "Stones", "Zep", "the Floyd", etc. It has to be a completely different name. The Beatles have two alternative names - the Mop-tops and the Fab Four.

They're also the only band with a tribute band that has its own tribute bands. The Beatles have The Rutles, and the Rutles have Ouch! and the Mountbattens.

And The Beatles are the only band with a tribute band that is a tribute band of a Beatles tribute band.......The Fab Four.
