All you need is love (i'm curious)
« on: November 03, 2007, 02:30:29 PM »

I'm curious: in "all you need is love" there's someone yelling "All together now" and in the end "She loves you yeah, yeah,yeah..." it seems to be Paul's voice, but it can also be Ringo's one...

Excuse me for my bad English, I'm Italian.

I think i's John, actually, I read in a Beatles biography that John actually wanted to sing She'll be Coming Around the Mountain but surprised himself singing that.(Guess he was just too used to singing that song a lot

Welcome to the forums Beatrix Starr! Enjoy them! :)

I've always thought it was paul shouting that at the end of
All You Need is Love, you can clearly see him saying 'Everybody'
in the promo video. :)

Its totally John,Man!! At the end of the vid you can completely see that it's him singing!(And when he stops singing, the "She Loves You's" end!)!!!!

I admit, it does sound like Paul, but Im sure it's John.
If you look closely at the end, you can see Pauls Mouth not moving and Johns is/

OK. If you listen carefully, you can still hear John singing 'love is all you need' when someone else (sounding remarkably like Paul) sings 'Oh yeah, she loves you yeah, yeah, yeah'. Remember, there was a backing track made, what you see isn't all live in the studio.

And if you look closely at the end you can see that they are both singing.

the "she loves you" singing at the end of AYNIL sounds like Ringo to me.

Curiously on a clip that I found on YouTube you can clearly see Paul singing it. On the film on Anthology John's singing. It still sounds like Paul to me. Remember there was a backing tape.

It couldn't be Ringo, he wasn't miked.

To me it's Paul. Never ever had a hint of doubt. To do something like that doesn't seem like a very Ringoish thing to do. Ringo, strangely in very fine voice, bursts into song? I can't accept that. And it doesn't sound like him.

It's definitely Paul's voice. I'm just not sure what's being mimed in the film, and what isn't.

I've always heard the tone of Starr's voice in the "she loves you" closing fade--sounds nothing like Macca, Lennon or George to me. I'm almost entirely convinced it was Ringo, despite evidence to the contrary.

I've never heard Ringo sing that high before, or since. But I guess we'll never know for sure.

It's not Ringo (sorry MMM :)). The voice heard isn't anywhere near deep enough, and the elocution's all wrong. It's definitely Paul. If you're not convinced, listen to the way the vowel in "now" is articulated. It's so clearly Paul that he could be standing next to me.

And here's a common source of confusion: It's not the same person singing "All together, now -- everybody" who then sings "She Loves You." It was Paul's idea that the "She Loves You" chorus should be sung at the end, but John wound up singing it. (All the backing vocals are from the pre-recorded track; i.e. George is miming.)
