question for people who have been to their prom

Did you go with a date, or with friends as a group? Is it weird for someone to go alone?
The reason I'm asking this because I'm only in grade nine but I doubt I'll ever find a boyfriend in high school. (Eh, I dunno, high school boys don't really interest me. I usually go for older guys.) And I want to go, but I'm afraid I'll look odd if I show up without a date. kind of early to be worrying about these things, I know... but I am a worrier.

Im sure you'll eventually find a boyfriend (even if you're not interested now I'm sure it will happen). If not go with your best friend

I went with my best friend. A lot of people just went with a group of friends. I wasn't into high school boys when I was in high school. I liked my older guys too.

I went with a highschool boy both times.
But I didn't have as much fun as my friends (a mixed group of guys and girls)who were ditching the prom and throwing an Anti-prom. They apparently had shopping cart races in Walmart with one person in the cart and another pushing. I watched their film of it....
And to think I could've been doing that instead of trying to dance with someone who stepped on my feet all night. :(


So, I guess the most important thing to remember is you really don't have to go to prom at all to have fun that night. Besides, if you're in 9th grade, you'll have more opportunities to go.

I went my junior year with a senior and my Senior year with a Senior.  I had fun both times but I did see people there with just friends.   My Junior Prom really sucked. We all showed up for the crowning of the king and queen (which my best friend got Queen yay for her!) and then we left lol.  I felt bad for the school for spending all that money on something the kids didn't like but they did a terrible job.

Ours wasn't called a "prom." It was just referred to as "grad." It was all a big hype over nothing special.

Yeah our Proms are called Balls. Like Junior Ball, Senior Ball.

we dont have senior prom we only have Junior Prom.  Seniors have a "ball"
