It is good to revisit the movie, and find new angles to determine why it is what it is. My newest angle is to focus on George Harrison...consider that George had just come from an extended stay in America, where he was hanging out, partying, playing, and making music with some of rock's elite in LA. He appeared on a television show by himself, and that show was one of the more hip and happening shows at the time. George was rock royalty, basically. And those other musicians and characters in that LA scene were obviously treating him with some measure of respect for who he was.
Then, he comes back to record with the Beatles, and McCartney starts telling him how and when to play the guitar, and he has a batch of decent songs written that get jammed around early on and need a little attention and tweaking, but they're dropped and left off in favor of stuff like "Teddy Boy" and "Maggie May"
I can understand why he'd be somewhat upset at the whole thing.
