What one Beatles memorabilia would you own?
« on: February 12, 2008, 12:16:26 AM »

Fantasy question: If you could own one piece of Beatles memorabilia, what would it be?  I don't know why, but I would love to have the quilt from John's bed in "Help!" It's pretty and cozy and it was all over John.

Stuart's bass would look kinda nice on my living room wall.

So would any of his paintings.

Actually, any! And, actually, ANY Hofner bass would do!

There's a shop on Bleeker St. in the Village (NYC, right across from Ray's pizza) that has had one in the window forever. I don't have the umption to just go and buy it (I don't play bass, but how hard can it be, right?), but maybe one day I will. Unless Paul gives me one of his ...

get the Epiphone Viola bass (Hofner)which imo sounds as good. They are selling over here now for around ?200.
There are even cheaper copies and I'm sure in America yu will have some right bargains to find.

White Album serial number 0000001

Alright, it is not number 1. Is 7 good enough? Here's your chance:

Quote
An extremely rare copy of the Beatles' ninth studio album the White Album, is going under the hammer at Film and Music Memorabilia auction early next month.

A copy of the White Album, with the serial number '00000007' is being auctioned on March 4 and is expected to fetch upto 5000 pound.

It is rumoured that the first ten copies of the 1968 album were distributed directly to the band, but it is reported that the copy up for sale wasbought by the vendor's parent as a gift at the time of the LP's release.

Inside the packaging of the plain white sleeve, is a poster of the lyrics to the songs, and a set of iconic photographs taken by John Kelley during the autumn of 1968.

Cameo Auctioneers, Fine Art Auctioneers based near Reading, believe this copy of the White Album could be the lowest numbered original mono copy of this album to ever become available for public auction.

Hmm, difficult choice ...
But I'd go for the keyboard John used at the Shee-Stadtion. Always loved how he played with his elbows an all ...  ;D

Yeah, 'Carnival Of Light' would definately be nice to own, but to be honest, i'm not much into all that mumbo jumbo avant-garde stuff like 'Revolution #9', so i'd probably give it a listen and shelve it forever.

I know i'd break out a copy of the 'Helter Skelter' once in awhile to party to.

If the edited 12 minute version on Anthology 3 is anything to go by, I really don't understand why anyone would be so desperate for the 27 minute version! It was recorded on the same day, so I expect they're pretty similar.
