The annoying thing about the whole ash cloud thing is that airlines ARE prepared to fly in it, they just can't be bothered telling everyone because then there'll be a massive rush and they'll have more work to do. One of my mum's employees got stuck in Tenerife last week, and they said they couldn't get her back until the 29th, which is really inconvenient because she needs to work. She asked if they could get her back any sooner if she paid any more money, and the greedy bastards said "of course, if you pay us more, we can get you back on the 24th instead!" But it's cost her £600 for them to be bothered actually making an effort to help her... so some airlines ARE prepared to fly this week, they just won't do it unless you pay through the nose. This woman's had to scrape half her earnings together just to get home to go back to work!
