I hope your daughters enjoy their proms! Man, I remember going to school parties and discos and getting all dollyed up.

I just noticed the different news items in our banner..... One says "read our rules" and the other says "thank you!". Was it always like that?

Thanks, KE! Just one daughter is going so far; the other has no interest. But I told her exactly what you just said: It'd be fun to get all
dressed up, etc.

Fortunately I have some friends whose daughters are the same height and build with former prom gowns, so she can borrow one.   :)

For goodness' sake; ya gotta love the tech generation. I just had my daughters write some thank you notes, and they could barely address the envelopes! They did the return-address part wrong (surname, street name, zip code—no city or state).

I really think kids (some kids—mine, obviously) need to get back to the basics.  :-\

 ha2ha  I guess I'm a dinosaur, but I want my kids to be able to hand-write a thank you note and hand-address an envelope. (Print will never die!   ;D  )

When they write thank you notes to the grandparents, I put all three envelopes in one larger one and address and mail it myself. Rather unsettling that they needed help with the envelopes last night.

Why is it that a Rugby League coach (Denis Betts of Widnes) can, after a game where numerous poor decisions were made against his team, calmly say that that's the way it goes and move onto the next question.....and yet a Football coach (Chelsea's, Man. Utd.'s, Arsenal's - it doesn't matter which) will berate any decision made against his team and agree with any decision that goes for his team?

I didn't think it was possible to hate anything more than my Droid Razr Maxx, but I have to admit, I loathe my upgrade, an HTC One remix, even more.

I'm just not a smartphone person.   :-\

Hold on...Windows 10 is coming. It's supposed to be a big improvement over 8. At least that's what theyI want us to think!

Good to see that this French guy isn't letting the Chelsea incident get brushed under the carpet.

It all dandy for Jose Wotsit to invite him to the odious Chelsea to see that they're not racist (erm.....it was only three years ago that the odious John Terry, still at the club, was 'not being racist' to Anton Ferdinand), but the truth is that many of the white, fat, middle-aged men who can still afford to go to Chelsea are the taxi-drivers/city guys who used to be 'naughty' in the dire 1980s, and their attitudes haven't changed a jot.

Chelsea DO have a problem with their support, they have done for almost 50 years now.....time to sort it out, I'm not going to hold my breath though.

The Chelsea-Burnley game is on TV here.  I saw a woman holding up a sign saying "No racism at the Bridge.  That's the way we like it".   I would hope that attitude is the rule and not the exception.  Pretty sad if it's not.

That's a good question! They are both equally frustrating, I think. I detest Windows 8 too.
