Do you see anyone you know in this footage, Barry?  ;) This gives me chills thinking about how close my sister Kris came to being in a crowd like this a week later in Philly. If the riots hadn’t happened she would have been.

I became a Beatles fan with the release of Rubber Soul.  Until then, I liked The Animals.  Girls who liked them too were more my speed...

I was so thrilled that the Thai soccer boys and their coach were succesfully rescued. From what I hear, they are waiting for four SEALs who are still exiting the cave. I pray they, too, get out safely.

It's so nice to have some happy news for once, after all the negativity (over here, at least).

Meant to whinge at you Moog.
The day we flew to Sydney for our cruise to NZ it was 37degC !!  25 the day before and 25 the day after, so we walked around Sydney in 37deg   :o

The city is a nightmare with all the tram lines going in, like a big building site.

That doesn’t sound too pleasant.  Luckily I live in Canberra  ;D

I know what you mean about the building site. Last time I was up there it was pretty messy. I’m going up this weekend and staying in the city centre so willl get to enjoy it more no doubt.

This stupid partial government shutdown is enraging me. My ex is a federal employee who is working without pay, so he can't pay child support, which I badly need because I don't earn that much (mostly because so much of my work has been outsourced to India and the Phillipines). Coming on the heels of $2,200 in auto repair bills and Christmas, the timing couldn't be worse. These politicians (in my anger, I'm including ALL of them) are so immature and stubborn. A group of toddlers could resolve this border wall funding thing with more speed and efficacy. In the meantime, hundreds of thousands of families are struggling to put food on the table.

Rant over; sorry, I just had to get that out.
