Apple Jam benefit concert celebrated release of new EP
Apple Jam’s recent show at Meany Theatre on June 15 served up more surprises than usual from the Beatles tribute group. The show, a benefit for Seattle Anesthesia Outreach, also celebrated the release of their new CD, On the Wings of a Nightingale, featuring songs written by John Lennon (“Help Me to Help Myself”) and Paul McCartney (the title track) as solo artists — songs the two wrote but never released themselves

Beatles radio station owner turns to fundraising during health crisis
For Pat Matthews, it's been a rough couple of years. The owner of Beatles-a-Rama, which he created in 2001, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2008.

Deep Beatles: “Eight Days A Week” (1964)
The year was 1985; the scene, Mr. Tantillo’s eighth-grade chorus class. On Fridays, students were allowed to bring in their own music so we could “experience” diverse tastes. (As I look back, I think Mr. Tantillo just needed a break from teaching a bunch of hormone-riddled preteens five days a week.) Fully immersed in popular artists of the day — Duran Duran, Wham!, and Whitney Houston — I barely paid attention when a fellow student stuck a cassette into the classroom’s tape deck. Suddenly guitars faded in, and verse one began:

Play New Beatles "Yellow Submarine" Video Game Online Now
The Beatles have introduced a new online video game in celebration of the recent release of the digitally restored version of the band's classic animated film Yellow Submarine on DVD and Blu-ray. The free game, titled Save Pepperland, can be played at YellowSubmarine.com, a newly launched website promoting the movie, as well as at TheBeatles.com.
