I'm really into The Sails night now. I'd never heard of them until I recently had to write a review of their latest album. It's one of the best new records I've heard in a few years. It sounds like a collection of forgotten pop classics from the mid to late 60s, but with a fresh and energetic modern sound. Beatles influences (mostly Beatles circa 'Revolver' and 'Sgt. Pepper') all over the place.

You can listen to samples from every song on this album here:

the script aren't bad for a modern band
one of the few commercial bands with 'hits' that doesn't annoy me in the least !
i think they opened up for paul mccartney

joost - very interesting stuff. some of the jangling guitars and great harmonies reminded me of the byrds (as well as the strong beatles influence)
cool !

The amazing thing is that it isn't even really a band. It's just one guy who wrote all the songs, produced the album, sang all the vocals and played all the instruments except for the drums.
