I was going to address this. I've read a bit about him in some recent books (the exact titles are failing me at the moment). I'm assuming he is the same one as in the Alan Parsons Project, but the only song of theirs with which I am familiar is Eye in the Sky. I've been meaning to read up on him and learn more.

It’s definitely that Alan Parsons. I recall an older brother mentioning in the 70s that he’d been an engineer for the Beatles.  Eye on the Sky I think was there biggest but an album Turn of a Friendly Card, was an earlier success with singles I Wouldnt Want to be Like You and Games People Play.

It was a "clue."  In music, bass means low, deep, or grave.

I don't think there is any other story about the BASSMAN sticker on Paul's Hofner.  He stuck it on his bass a couple of times in different positions and then took it off.  The Candlestick Park August 29, 1966 set list is still on the upper bout of his 1963 bass...

With George mentioning the cost of Cruise ships and saying they would have to pay Nicky Hopkins session rates (So Billy was a great choice)..
I find myself inquisitive as to who paid for what.
Were The Beatles drawing a salary ?
How did they pay for their mansions and luxury cars ?
George Martin is there and I believe freelance now, so who is paying him to be there doing seemingly very little (compared to Glyn Johns)
Was Glyn's wages paid by EMI ?

At one point Glyn Johns mentions the costs of the tape they’re using (more like wasting). George says they’re emi recording artists so they’ll pay for it.

The Beatles finances are a story to themselves. There’s a good book by Peter Doggett called You Never Give Me Your Money which goes into a lot of this and the later law suits. I’ll dig it out on my kindle and see if I can find answers.
