Paul McCartney's 1967 Martin D-28
« on: June 26, 2022, 10:21:49 PM »

Paul acquired his D-28 in 1968.  With it, he recorded several songs such as Blackbird, Mother Nature's Son, Two of Us, and Her Majesty.  It was a right-handed model which he strung in reverse.  But he never had the bridge modified to correct the position of the saddle for proper intonation...

Thus, his D-28 was "reverse-compensated" yet his acoustic guitar accompaniment sounded perfect...

Today, Paul performs with a left-handed D-28...

It was the same with his right-handed Epiphone Texan FT-79  yet his acoustic guitar accompaniment sounded just fine...

Paul still has and occasionally performs with that guitar today...

The bridge is original but the saddle had been replaced with a modified saddle to help a bit with intonation.

Paul and Linda   1973

Paul is playing a Gibson Everly Brothers guitar, intoned correctly.  I love this video!
