I just saw Jezebel with Bette Davis. Pretty good movie.
Also watched the Bad Seed, the '56 version, and seeing it again reminded my why it's one of my all time favorite movies. Of course, the bad part is that every time I watch it with my mom, she tells me the movie reminds her of the both of us. Thanks, mom.  ha2ha

I look from the wings of the play you are staging. As I'm sitting here, doing nothing but aging. While my guitar gently weeps.

I saw The Lovely Bones the other day. Some parts were okay, but others were disappointing.

Watched Nine a week ago. Great acting from Daniel Day Lewis, Penelope Cruz wasn't bad either... and yeah those two were the only people with characters really. Apart from the good performance the story is very usual and lacks depth I found. The ton of women there had no time to develop their charcter. But then I suppose its not about them.
The songs are nice .

I have seen Valentine`s Day today. Mixed emotions. On the one hand, rather nice and kind, on the other hand, rather dull and the plot is very predictable. Can`t say I like it.

That sums up most of Stiller's movies. I really enjoy them.
I heard the other day that the 2 Night at the Musuem movies have made over a billion dollars worldwide!

Saw Avatar, last Saturday.

Impressed by the grandeur, visual effects and imagination.

Disappointed by (here’s my short list) such an intellectually childish screenplay; embryonic prospective research and nonexistent cultural or artistic references; superficial 18th century psychology and that simplistic-new-age-mystic-esoteric-guilt-ridden-ecological-pseudo-spirituality along with its rudimental “good versus bad” USA centered political and cultural perspective.

Nevertheless, I honestly had a good time. 4ac

^ I've heard about that movie, can't exactly remember what the plot line of it was though...

I had mixed feelings about it too...  Definitely Topher Grace's (the dude from That 70s Show... if you ask me it looks like he spent too much time in a tanning bed!) character's speech at the end was definitely something I wanted to say to my boyfriend the other night but the words just weren't coming out.  That's something I really liked about it.  It had an element of real relationships, not the entire unicorns and bubblegum story.

I watched "Youth In Revolt" this time last week, it was pretty funny.  People have been going potty over it; we aimed to go to the 7:30pm showing, and we got there at 7pm to make sure we got good seats, but the queue was so long, not only did we miss the start of it, but it also sold out while we were waiting in line, so we had to wait around for the 9:30pm screening instead!  It was worth it though, it was pretty funny all the way through.  The trailer was a bit deceptive of the actual film, so when you realised what the "bad" character was, it was cooler than the trailer had made out.  I recommend seeing it if you fancy a laugh!  :)

If you liked An Education, as I really did, you should love Scandal (1989) with Bridget Fonda. They both have that late fifties-early sixties British atmosphere perfectly done.

I watched Shutter Island. It wasn't really scary at all, and after watching half of it, it gradually got more and more confusing. Then the ending cleared it up.

Paranormal Activity
Although entirely staged, this is presented as a compilation of home video footage from a young couple living in San Diego. They set up a camera in their bedroom as the woman suspects that a demon that used to haunt her is starting to come back. You see a few things moving in the room while they're asleep, after a while the activities because more aggressive and the ending is very predictable. I saw this movie around midnight, all alone and in the dark, hoping it would scare the crap out of me, but I never even felt uncomfortable. So this movie's pretty lame.

Bend It Like Beckham
A movie about two English tomboys, one of them from Indian heritage, who want to become professional soccer players. This movie wants to be funny but doesn't try hard enough. Very lightweight movie, but I can't say I didn't enjoy it. Keira Knightley might have had something to do with that. Or a lot.

Monster
Based on the true story of female serial killer Aileen Wuornos. Great movie, very impressive. Charlize Theron plays possibly the best role I've ever seen an actress play.
