There was that here too. I discovered when we sat down to dinner that there was pollen all over the kitchen table. It blew in the window. You couldn't see it but you could feel it. Yuck!

Geez, nothing like that here. We were supposed to have bad thunderstorms on Saturday but we really lucked out.

LOL I bet they would be the same words I was saying when the wind broke one of the porch blinds on Saturday. I should have known better than to put them down but it wasn't blowing that hard in the morning and it stays so much cooler in the kitchen with them down. I tried to fix it but ended up just taking it down, which was no easy feat in the wind. It took every ounce of restraint I possess to keep from throwing the stupid thing over the railing!

Were they vertical blinds? We have lost almost a dozen since we moved in a few years ago. Even when I pull the blinds all the way to the left (i.e., away from the open portion of the window) the wind still seems to knock them around. I end up using the AC a lot even when it's not that hot outside just so I don't have to deal with the wind. I can understand your frustration!

These are enormous wooden porch blinds that are supposed to roll up but I always have trouble with them. They make a lot of noise, even in a breeze. I was in the shower one night and thought someone was breaking in the house. Turns out we forgot to put the blinds up! I've had fun with the indoor ones too though. Wild kids and dogs have taken their toll on quite a few sets over the years. Oh, and there was the time I swatted a fly that had landed on one. I wasn't even thinking. And that was a custom-made one.

Sunday I was coming back from Concord, NH and there was a row of 6-8 pines that had the tops sheared off right in a row at about 30 feet. The last one went right across the power lines and knocked out the power in Peterborough, NH. I suspect it was a wind shear but small tornado's are not completely unheard of here.

I sure hope tomorrow evening's forecasted thunderstorms move out so we can see the Strawberry Moon on the summer solstice.

Edit: There seems to be another date floating around the Internet for the last time this occured, 1948. I wonder which is right?

Well, Kelley, go out and look at it now.  It'll be less full tomorrow night than it is now.  The Eastern Hemisphere gets the full moon at night on the summer solstice this year. 

And if thunderstorms get in the way tomorrow night, make sure you remind us again in 46 years for the next time this happens.  ;)
