It was interesting to watch him take control sometimes. When he stepped in to rearrange the amps and mikes for instance. Very calm and authoritative. You can see why he could get good results out of them.

That was funny. A pretty tentative attempt by Mal to follow the police instruction.  Hesitantly just turning off George’s amp.

the entirety of the police thread from when they first show up until the end is hilarious.  So many involved in the stalling up to the Mal unplugging to Paul's alternate lyrics when he noticed them.

We wondered while watching, you would think the police, once understanding they were on the rooftop, would also see others on other rooftops and be quicker to shut it down from a safety point of view.

Mal had already escorted the bobbies out the door and downstairs when Paul sang the impromptu lyrics "You've been out too long, Loretta, you've been playing on the roofs again and that's no good 'cause you know your mommy doesn't like that...she gets angry...she's gonna have you arrested!"

Paul showed some discretion but that second performance of Get Back concluded the concert, perhaps prematurely.

So i intend to take a full round trip through the three parts again over the Christmas holiday.  Up to now I have seen part one only once, part two twice and part three twice plus the rooftop portion a fourth time.

I do wish I had it on DVD, might be an old person point of view but somewhere in my sub conscious I am afraid it will all be gone one day, not available, like it was only a dream sequence...

So do I. I'm frantically busy with work right now and have been glued to my computer for days, but when I stop (Christmas Eve, probably) for the holiday you can bet I'll have this on as I wrap presents, decorate, and prep the food. 

I do wish I had it on DVD, might be an old person point of view but somewhere in my sub conscious I am afraid it will all be gone one day, not available, like it was only a dream sequence...

In interviews Peter Jackson keeps teasing a dvd release which would include even more footage. He says it’s up to Disney though as they’re the distributors. If they think a dvd release will sell they’ll do it but initially there attitude is no one buys director cut dvds anymore.

Cant see Disney allowing that. They want people to stream it surely.
I wouldnt buy a DVD. Lack of space for such collections wont permit it, apartment living is like that.

Just finished watching again, isnt it just the greatest thing.
I wish the songs on the roof wern't interrupted so much by the police and street talk. I'd like to see a directors cut of the performance complete.
The Beatle wives looked so pretty, Maureen on the roof shaking her head, even Yoko looked kinda pretty in that shot of her and John in ep 3.

Just thinking that Kevin the assistant will be in his 70s now

word is DVD is coming early Feb and it has zero extra footage. 

I agree with you that the one bit of extra that would have been awesome is an edit of the rooftop without the cuts to street and lobby.  I LOVED those parts but also want just the concert when I want to watch it

I agree with you both about seeing clean rooftop concert footage. The police and man-in-the-street interviews were interesting but distracting. I'd like a chance to see both separately.

It's great to just put on for half an hour when doing the dishes or something.

Kevin I think has been a regular at Beatle festivals for a few years. I'm wondering where the young guy Paul was showing how to write songs at the piano is now. If he's still around he'd become a minor Beatle celebrity as well probably.

Also another fave bit. John saying he'd seen Fleetwood Mac. "Sweet Man". Then Paul compares them to Canned Heat (Better than Canned Heat! says John, emphatically) and they start a take off on Up the Country
