That looks great, Barry. I look forward to watching it when this crazy week is over. It looks like I have a lot of catching up to do!

We've all seen the footage of their first US visit, Kev.  Yes, this behind-the-scenes stuff is excellent, Kev.  I love how The Beatles do the film clapboard thing with the microphone!

Thanks. This looks great.

I've watched the first ten minutes. One thing immediately stands out : the Americans loved Ringo.

OK. I've finished it. Highly recommended.

Those shots of an American family watching Ed Sullivan were authentic and almost shot by accident. I always wondered about that.

Yes, at 18:07   That same scene was playing out in homes all over the country that night.

They just went into an apartment block and asked if they could film this family who were watching the TV.

Generally speaking this filming is another example of things coming together just at the right time for the Beatles. The hand-held camera was new at the time and gave these images an amazing immediacy.

The segment that follows filmed at The Peppermint Lounge (20:20 - 20:48) features Ringo dancing and Paul sitting and smoking a ciggie.

A similar segment would be filmed a couple of months later for A Hard Day's Night...
