I like it too. Colourful.

So, Lennon regarded himself as an equal with the 'supreme composer' Beethoven. So we can assume from this he regarded his songwriting as superior to Paul's!?

well, the cover looks OK. I heard some of those songs on my favourite radio station, and I must say...they sound good. It's an experiment mor than anything else I guess. But George Martin did a good job, yet again.
I will definitely buy this album.

The cover is obviously a combination of early and later Beatles imagery.

As promised, here are the 4 promo tracks for LOVE: http://rapidshare.com/files/1755716/Love_Promo.zip

Tracks as follows:

1. Strawberry Fields Forever (Love Version)
2. Octopus's Garden (Love Version)
3. Lady Madonna (Love Version)
4. While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Love Version)

Just a quick note on Strawberry Fields - this track is a combination of all of the available versions starting from John's home demo into take 1 then the regular versions (plus bits and pieces in the outro). However, there is an absolutely dreadful edit at 0:27 (where John's demo joins take 1) which I hope has been fixed on the released version - honestly - I could have done better!!!! Apart from that, the mix is brilliant!

A little quiz for ya - who can name the song whose drums are used as the intro to Lady Madonna?

I know Lady Madonna was based on Bad Penny Blues.  The piano riffs are similar.  I don't know about the drum patterns though.

Yep - by Humphrey Lyttleton in the mid Fifties. Did you know it was also released on Parlophone?!!

I've heard WMGGW on the radio and it was superb. Sounds like it was made yesterday. The production was crystal clear, the arrangement new and subtle. Definately more than just a rehash. If the rest are to this standard then they're really onto something.

Thanks The End. They are good and they've done a good job. But, not as good as the originals. My downloads have a lot of fuzzy noise in playback.

Thanks Alan. It sounds really good, but one must admit that the Martins had the best material on hand. Still the production sounds wonderful. But I agree with GreenApple that I like the originals better. Maybe except for Octopus's Garden.

Notice how Beatles releases are about every six years now.

A little off topic, but apparently Kurt Corbain is the highest earning dead rock star (16 million) making as much as John and George combined.
Said so on the radio.
I think elvis was second
