Thanks to all for posting.

Note: I acknowledge that albums like, to name a few, Let It Bleed, Pet Sounds or Are You Experienced are better than some albums from my list like, say, Please Please Me, The Who By Numbers and Volunteers, but I wanted to save an important body of work from my very favourite bands. Anyway, I didn't choose the whole discography of any band, for example Yellow Submarine by the Beatles or Face Dances by the Who are not in my list, and other favourite bands like the Yardbirds or Buffalo Springfield only got a compilation album, though I really like all their records. So I tried to be as selective I could among my very favourite groups.

Love
Forever Changes
De Capo
Four Sail

Nice selection Four Sail, though I guess that most Love's fans would have chosen their debut album instead. Only Arthur Lee was in that album from the original band, but it still has several great moments. Arthur Lee was a genius.

Forcing myself to limit it to just five albums per decade and no compilations (or solo Beatles otherwise this could be a whitewash)...

I'll just have to add some Pink Floyd albums to my list, since I'm really into them lately.

Dark Side Of The Moon
The Wall
The Final Cut
The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn

I love all four albums, and I have listened to them lately about once a day each.  :)

The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn

I've always loved early Pink Floyd...perhaps that's just because I'm a huge Syd Barrett fan  ;D while I'm here I'd like to add a few more albums:

The Who: My Generation, The Who Sell Out, Tommy, Who's Next
Syd Barrett: The Madcap Laughs, Barrett
The Ramones: Ramones, Leave Home, Rocket to Russia
Siouxsie and the Banshees: The Best of Siouxsie and the Banshees, Through the Looking Glass
The Stooges: The Stooges, Raw Power
