That was interesting. It depends on how you define "shocking", though. I agreed with a lot of those, even though I wasn't around for most of them... :-/

The Rolling Stones arrested for drug possesion, though? Hardly shocking. ::)

I think the thing with the Rolling Stones is on their because it was probably very shocking in 1967. I mean, if you're going to go by today's standards, Elvis' hips wouldn't be on their either. I think two hugely famous rock stars getting busted with a naked girl in a rug would even cause a bit of a stir nowadays too. Oh, and that whole Mars bar thing still gets talked about all these years later. Heh. Not as wild as a shark, but it's still kinda wierd.

Remember The Times did a whole editorial on the injustices of the bust, and afterwards Jagger was whisked away to do TV documentaries about dissatisfied youff. Add that to the myth of The Mars Bar and Marianne Faithful,  this being the first big rock bust and I can see why it ranks. Maybe.

Yeah, that whole Mars Bar thing is pretty bizarre. But somehow I can totally believe Mick doing that. It's definitely his kind of thing...

I posted this before here, but this rumor is just too great:

Apparently, the cops found Marianne Faithful with the Mars bar, and said "This is nuts!", to which she replied, "No, it's Mars!".

I don't even really care if it's true, but that's a great story.
