George Harrison's performance of Here Comes The Sun with Pete Ham at The Concert for Bangladesh remains one of my favorite live performances of this song...

But Paul wasn't the first to sing a song about a serial killer...

I just watched this for the first time. And the second. And the third. I absolutely love what they’ve done here! I have to admit that by the third time through I got more than a little teary eyed between 1:56 and 2:03. Now I have to move on to just listening.  :)

It’s a magic video. It works the nostalgia but not in a heavy handed way. Wistful though for sure.

I think listening the main thing I’m noticing is the vocals, particularly the backing vocals, are just a bit clearer.  But even George’ lead vocal seems to be more present. You can here more detail it.  All in a good way.

I heard the remix of I Want You today on fm in the car   It sounded incredible even though I’m not a fan of the song lol.  I honestly thought for a second that it was a modern day cover   I’m definitely getting the CD

to each his own, when I think of the catalog of songs, and "hate" I really don't end up with these two.

blmeanie:  Maxwell and Darling are good songs.  I could never write anything like them.  I just don't care to listen to them.  Songs I like are ones I want to play over and over again and that I choose to play.  There's lots of good songs in the world that I don't really care to listen to.

After listening to Octopus's Garden, I think this should be added to the Yellow Submarine album.  When I hear the gurgling voices singing under water, it makes me think of "We all live in a Yellow Submarine."

It's a good song but it's another song I don't go out of my way to listen to.

Also, I didn't know Ringo wrote a book with this title.

This version of Octopus's Garden really brings out the country sound in it.  I like this a lot.  I love all those twanging strings!

I think this is a very informative video which helps to give a lot of perspective about the Abbey Road album.  I'll probably watch it again for the technical details it describes, for example the reference to the 8-track reel-to-reel recording process used for the 1st time by the Beatles for this record.

l know the feeling Kelley, I've asked my kids please don't buy me any more CDs or DVDs for Xmas or birthday as I have decluttered and got rid of all that plastic stuff, I listen to my music now on my computer on my phone.  I have no interest in owning CDs or DVDs or booklets anymore as they're just collected dust on the shelf lol.

Same here.   Once I put my music in iTunes, I have no need for CD's. The same goes with the new Abbey Road!

Felt good getting rid of a lot of stuff.

I’d truly forgotten how awesome Paul’s hair was at that time. He looks so dam cool in the field at Tittenhurst. Funny how you notice these things after being a fan for like a million years  ;D

While I mostly do the same, sound quality from CDs still outstrips streaming. So for stuff I really want in best quality possible (ie The Beatles), I’ll still opt for a CD.

Bought the $30 CD which is the original remix, booklet and a take of each song. Haven’t listened to all - sat in the car in the garage and pumped it up as we don’t have a music system lol but it sounds so more vibrant and loud what tracks I played. Love the early take of Something but the biggest surprise is the early version of YNGMYM!  My current fave Beatle song however Paul’s vocal in this one is very different and sung down a tone   Sounds really odd despite the backing being pretty much the same.  Quite jarring actually lol

Another funny bit is the intro to Golden Slumbers where Paul starts singing TFOTH!!  The piano is similar but a lovely bit of fun.

Anyway first time ever I’ve bought one of these new type albums lol

I now have Abbey Road in the original vinyl from 1970, the CD from the bread box set and now this one

My daughter Abbey refused to pose for a photo with this new version of her namesake album!  Typical teenager ;D

Ringo's always been good at telling stories...

I loved when Ringo was Mr. Conductor! George Carlin always made me a little uneasy. I was kind of afraid he might tell my kids a story about the Seven Words You Can Never Say on the Island of Sodor.

Yes.  Ringo, by far, was the better Mr. Conductor.
