I just noticed something I've never heard before.  I was listening to "Lovely Rita" (the 2017 remix).  At the end, you hear "I don't believe it."  It sounds like John.  I just thought I'd share this observation for anyone who might appreciate this bit of trivia.  Maybe someone has posted about this somewhere already but I don't know.

That's interesting, Loco Mo; I'd never heard that before. The 2017 remix sounded really fantastic, by the way. Not being a musician, I'm not able to be more specific than that. But it sounded great on my computer, like I was right there in the studio. Oh, and it does sound to me like that's John saying "I don't believe it."

With all the love-making sounds at the end, I've always heard it as "I'm leaving."  You know, the opposite of "I'm coming."  Something John would toss in...

In that clip, Barry, I hear "I'm leaving," too. And that definitely sounds like something John would do (i.e., switch the wording).

I had no idea those were sounds of lovemaking. . . Not sure if  I'm naive or simply have had different experiences.

Yes, that's how we heard it in 1967.  They used to have full Sgt. Pepper's vinyl LPs and 1987 CDs on YouTube but no longer.  The 2009 mix is close...

So those are two different versions, then? Because I can clearly hear "I don't believe it" in the 2017 remix Loco Mo mentioned, and I hear "I'm leaving" in the clip you posted, Barry.

We distinctly heard "I'm leaving" on the LP in 1967, on the CD in 1987, and on the 2009 Remaster in 2009.  Someone messed with the master tape copy for 2017 Remix because "I don't believe it" is clearly heard.

At least they left Take 9 alone and John saying "Oh no, no, no...I refuse to go" which is a good rejoinder to "I'm leaving."

Normandie:  I tried listening several times on my headphones.  I didn't exactly feel the "in-the-room" experience though.  I recall years ago on my first stereo system that I was oftentimes startled when listening to various records because of the feeling that the vocalist was right in my room with me.  Maybe I've become aurally jaded over the years.

Hello Goodbye:  I think you have very good hearing because I cannot hear "I'm leaving" in that jumble of sounds toward the end of Take 9.  This Take surprises me because Paul's voice sounds very different.  It seems to be at a higher pitch and has a shorter snappier quality to the enunciations of the words.  The voice almost sounds borderline female.  I don't think I've heard any other songs in which Paul sounds like he does on Take 9.

Also note:  I was counting to the song in terms of 8 to the bar.  Try doing this for Love Ly Ri Ta Me ter maid.  What is interesting is you think you're counting 8 syllables but there are actually only 7.  I am somewhat confused by the count at "Me Ter."  It's as if the word jumps somehow and it's off beat somewhat.  It is very hard to discern the actual count.  Also, I have noticed that groups of sixteenth notes work very well for the energy of the song but not actually what is heard, which appears to be quarter notes.  Not sure if anyone's on my wavelength here, but if so, please comment.  Thank you.  I think it's even possible that the word "Me Ter" could be a compilation of the quarter note and a possible thirty-second note for "Ter."  It's very hard to hear, I'll admit.

Hello Goodbye:  Thanks for the feedback and the videos.  I've always loved the Andrew Sisters.  Their harmonies seem so effortless.  I like the way Maxene joined so naturally during parts of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.  Not for a minute did she ever seem out of breath or off cue.  And Patty could really belt that ad lib during the middle of the song.  I wonder if she grew up listening to scat singers (as a key influence).

Well, I think I get it.  8 to the bar sounds very much like consecutive 8th notes throughout with the accent on every second beat.  4/4 sounds like something an in-time drummer could have a lot of fun with in terms of fills.  It's easy to lose timing control if your timing sense is poor and your fills are not on the beat.  A not-fast-enough drummer would have trouble while utilizing too many fills (although brief) if he/she can't do them quickly enough on beat and between beats IMO.

FWIW:  I felt like the song had a song-and-response quality in terms of Lovely Rita and then Meter Maid.  Also, I was counting 8 beats for both verses so that's why I erroneously labeled it 8 to the bar.  I still find it interesting that you may think you hear 8 syllables but it's only 7.

So, I didn't hear "I'm leaving" but I heard "I refuse to go."  I was listening in the wrong place of the song last time.

I tried different headphones (Master Pulse Pro 7.1ch with bass FX) and pumped up the volume.  I still didn't feel the "in-the-room" ambience because (psychologically) I felt the song's parts were pieced together at different times while assembling the overall song.  I mean John's vocals had an echo or sustain type quality to them.  I don't feel like that would have occurred simultaneously with Paul singing lead vocal.  Well, what do I know?  I'm sort of a pretend analyst here.  But thanks again, I appreciate your feedback (as usual).

Loco, one of the reasons The Andrews Sisters sounded so great was because they were sisters gifted with "sibling harmony."  We saw this with The Lennon Sisters, The Everly Brothers, The McGuire Sisters and other like vocalists...

Thanks again, Hello Goodbye.  I enjoyed those added videos of the Andrew Sisters and the D'amore Sisters.  I visited the D'amore Facebook page and noted that they haven't posted anything since 2014.  Also, I was surprised to learn that Bei Mir Bist Du Schon is Yiddish (To me you're beautiful).  I always thought this was German but it's not, it's Yiddish.  Incidentally, the song was banned by Nazi Germany because its composer was Jewish (Sholom Secunda).

Also, interesting to know that the song "catapulted the relatively unknown trio (The Andrew Sisters) to fame and became a tremendous hit for Kapp's Decca label."

Bette Midler and her sisters did their own trio version of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.  It's very good and infectious to the max degree!

BTW:  Listening to the videos on YouTube led me to listen to Funkytown by Lipps, Inc. which was in the queue.  I love that song!!

Funny how Yamini Chitale's video really makes you think they are 3 people until you check out her other videos and you see it's only her.

The song is very exciting.  I think the vocal accents for the first half of the song really drive it along.  I also think the harmonies really give her voice a fuller quality as opposed to the solo parts.

This song really seems meant to be sung by women.  Am I wrong about this?
