Lets say that in 1969 The Beatles are working on Get Back, however, EMI is not satisfied with the results and its put on the shelf indefinintley. Not wanting to give up ANY Beatlese material, being the money-grubbing corporation they are, they bring in an up and coming Syd Barrett, recently severed from his former group, feeling that The Beatles are ageing. EMI bring Barrett in to prevent The Beatles from becoming a dinosaur act. Through doing this The Beatles are given a sort of defacto George Martin, albeit one less organized, to enhance their sound and also do what George did by making decisions that would otherwise start fights. Thus, Barrett unknowingly prevents The Beatles break-up and in turn his confidence is brought up and he goes into the studio to become an enormously successful artist, leaving his former band in obscurity. In 1972 Bassist Roger Waters hands over six songs and an album title which was intended to be made by his band but they disbanded, realizing they couldn't make it without their former leader. The songs are titled Breathe, Time, Money, Us And Them, Brain Damage, and Eclipse. Barrett sees the complexities his former friend intended and hands them over to The Beatles, whom name the album along with some songs cooked up by other members, If You Wanna Sing The Blues, Imagine, Band On The Run, Beware The Dark, How Do You Sleep? (a song directed at Barrett's former bandmates), and three songs penned by Syd, Effervescing Elephant, Bob Dylan Blues, and Terrapin. As for Waters' lyrics, they choose different members to sing them.
