I read the other day that Giles Martin has confirmed The White Album will be re released to mark its 50th Anniversary somthats great news. Said it will be out next year.

The Beatles’ ‘indulgent’ White Album CONFIRMED for 50th anniversary re-mix

I'm curious to hear the re-mix. I'm not sure if I'll buy it. I enjoy listening to the album as it was originally produced in 1968.

I have the 30th anniversary edition of the White Album. Actually it's the only version of the White Album I own. Thanks God it's not re-mixed.

Paul confirmed it is going to be out in November. It will be remixed and will contain some demo tracks. Looking forward to it!

I look forward to this one too. I liked the remixed Pepper. It will only contain some demo tracks? There was speculation it’d include the full cleaned up Kinfaun demos which would be terrific if it happened.

I'd would like to see (better to say - to hear) a full CD of demos, alternate takes, instrumental tracks etc. of White Album sessions.
On the album, there are 30 tracks - a lot of music.
Since we can never really get enough of Beatles' stuff, I'd like to hear more unreleased material.
OK, WA will be remixed, it would probably sound a little better (or just a little different) than 2009 remasters, but you'll get the same 30 tracks. Sure, we would enjoy listen to it.
But unreleased stuff is always something new.

I can't really appreciate all these remixes (Sgt Pepper, e.g.). I think you'd need a good stereo speaker system and the ability to play the music loud without disturbing your neighbors.

I live in an apartment and I have to listen to all my music on headphones. And, yes, if I like a song I like to turn up the volume!

I don't know if I'll ever be able to hear all this music the way it's meant to be heard. Headphones are unnatural. It's sounds in an open environment that are the way music is meant to be heard.

It's kind of like movies are best seen on the big screen as opposed to a television set in someone's living room or on a computer monitor.

I’m just the opposite; I feel that I can really hear music best with my headphones.

In my Life: Well, it's just my opinion. Maybe if I had access to stereo speakers, I'd prefer headphones. I'd have to able to compare to know for sure.

Right. I do have speakers but I hear way more details with my headphones. But my speakers aren’t great so I’ll just have to wait until someone with really good speakers and acoustics invites me to their house.

I agree with both of you. Headphones seem unnatural to me, too, LocoMo, and I agree with your analogy between listening to music in the open and seeing a movie on the big screen versus on a TV set. However, I feel I can hear the music better with headphones. Unfortunately, all I have are little earbuds, so I'm not really in a position to choose at present.

Agree Kelley, I only use headphones these days, you hear everything if you get quality ones and I can listen to what I want (wifey also uses headphones and I dont have to listen to James Blunt and Coldplay - her favourites)

I can't believe it's 50 years since I stood on line all night long at Macy's in New York City waiting for the store to open so I could buy the White Album on its day of release. I must have gotten a low serial number as a result which would make it worth a lot today. But a year later I gave the album to the girl I was going out with at the time whose name was Magill and she called herself Lil but everyone knew her as Nancy.
