Why, I wonder? And isn't it a shame they have to be guests of the most overpaid, overrated 'chat' show host on the planet.

This, from Ringo's site. Unfortunately, I'm going to be in France...something tells me that it will be quite sad, though.

THE BEATLES LOVE BY CIRQUE DU SOLEIL CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison to join Guy Laliberté in dedication to John Lennon & George Harrison

Larry King to broadcast his show LIVE from The Beatles REVOLUTION Lounge at The Mirage

On June 26, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon, Olivia Harrison and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté will all take part in a special dedication ceremony in honor of John Lennon and George Harrison.

In May 2006 during rehearsals for LOVE, Paul McCartney and Guy Laliberté discussed how best to recognize John Lennon's and George Harrison's contributions to the show. Subsequently, Cirque du Soleil designers created two plaques that will be unveiled on June 26 and then permanently displayed in the LOVE Theatre lobby at The Mirage.

This event celebrates the one-year anniversary of LOVE and coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. Following the ceremony, Larry King will interview Paul, Ringo, Yoko, Olivia and Guy for his one hour broadcast from The Beatles REVOLUTION Lounge at The Mirage in Las Vegas. Larry King Live airs on CNN at 9pm ET, 6pm PT. The distinguished guests will then attend a special one year anniversary performance of LOVE.

In the past year, LOVE has played to sold-out audiences, some of whom have discovered The Beatles music and their message of love for the first time. Celebrity guests such as George Clooney, Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes, Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban, Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson have all seen LOVE and raved about their experience.

LOVE celebrates the musical legacy of The Beatles and is presented exclusively at The Mirage in Las Vegas. The project was born out of a personal friendship and mutual admiration between George Harrison and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté.

Damn, I wonder how impossible it would be to book a room at the Mirage on that date.

I'll look out for it on CNN. We won't get it live here, but maybe the next day. Shame it's it's that half wit Larry King that's doing it.

I want to see how Paul & Yoko interact together more than anything else because of the personal & professional tension between them.

Update:

Just seen a trailer on CNN for Larry King. In Europe the programme will be on at:

11 am CET wednesday
9 am GMT wednesday (that's 10 am British time)

It doesn't look like it's repeated as LK is on every day.

Just finished watching the show. If you missed it you didn't miss much. I know I'm a Larry King basher, but he really gets nothing out of his guests. His research seems to consist of reading the morning papers.

Ringo and Paul both wearing trainers with their suits was kind of amusing, as was the look of surprise on Olivia's face when Yoko 'revealed' that it was John that pushed to have Something released as a single. Apart from that Larry called Ringo George, couldn't pronounce Cirque du Soleil the same way twice, and shamelessly kept plugging his show with Paris Hilton at the end. He only asked questions that we already new the answers to, and read almost entirely from a script which never left his hands. A real pro!

Sorry Larry, but you should have been put out to grass years ago.

It was very. But then I wasn't really expecting much from old Larry. Paul was quite subdued (for him), so Ringo got to talk quite a bit. They talk about George very fondly, but Paul still has trouble talking about John. Yoko was Yoko, Olivia was nice (as usual), and Larry was crap. That's about it.
