No i love the song too, I'd just like them to do something a little more unexpected.

Noels comments seem fitting.  Noble idea, but kinda futile.  And if anyone should be begging for debt dropping, America would be near the top.  We're in the hole too.

It would be completely unexected for me because I have no doubt in my mind that they wouldn't play that song again in a million years.

I heard that they're trying to get the Spice Girls to reunite for Live 8. Mel B is holding out though.

Echoes and Dogs are two of my faves from The floyd aswell Sunny. ;) Waters scathing voice is amazing in Dogs...'Gotta Stay Awake Gotta try n shake off...This creeping malaise'....Awesome chords aswell.

My guess for their slot based on 3 songs from DSOTM is 'Money', 'Us & Them', 'Brain Damage/Eclipse.' Presuming that Scissor Sisters will be doin 'Comf. Numb', I'll go with 'Wish You Were Here' aswell.

Okay, on the subject of the Scissor Sisters, I found this on a site talking about the greatest covers ever. What are these people thinking??

9 Comfortably Numb - Scissor Sisters, 2004

Orig. Pink Floyd, 1979

Only divine inspiration could explain how, or why, New York's bendiest band came to pop Pink Floyd's balloon of pretension by re-recording their most horribly self-regarding song in the style of the Saturday Night Fever-era Bee Gees. At once cold, sexy and relentlessly danceable, it far outshines the original in both concept and execution. Key moment: The flurry of electronic handclaps after the line "You may feel a little sick."

But then they do make sense here:

8 Twist and Shout - The Beatles, 1963

Orig. the Isley Brothers, 1960

The Beatles recorded their version in a single take for their debut album Please Please Me

Looks like floyd are slated to do: 1) money 2) Comf. Numb and 3) Wish you were here

Pretty close guess, Apple Beatle.

Well, so far MTV are doing a VERY poor job of broadcasting the show. Too much talk and not enough music. McCartney and U2 did a good job with Sgt. Pepper. I liked the faux Beatles playing horns. U2 just did Beautiful Day and ended with the last verse of Blackbird. Very cool. Paul looks good btw. Very cute.
