I wouldnt.
For me its deception unless its clearly stated in the promotional material. Tickets for these shows are astronomical. $400 to see Rod Stewart in November. (Im not saying Rod does this btw)

Quite a lot of artists do it these days, either with vocals or backing tracks.

Proven here re Dolly Parton, Ive seen similar vids about Roger Waters and others.

No. 'Fraid not. I understand as artist age and their voices are less reliable they feel they need to do something. But I agree, paying hundreds of dollars to listen to the record while the artist stands there isn't on. It is very dodgy.
