Are there any hidden gems in Paul's album catalogue?

I like some of the Wings/solo singles. But could not face listening to whole albums.

There's tons of hidden gems, but one persons treasure is another persons trash.  I'm not sure why you are so against listening to an entire record.  How do you know you wouldn't like it?

I was surprised to open this thread and find it was from 2004 originally lol. Little did that original person know that Paul would still be kickin' here in 2019.

I think Paul’s got a lot of great stuff on albums from 1970 to today. The whole Flaming Pie album is a hidden gem in some ways. Well known to Paul fans but, like most of his stuff post Tug of War, not really something someone will know if they aren’t into Paul.

I think every  Paul album would have a couple of playlist worthy songs. Except for McCartney 2.

I've always liked this song from Tug of War.

I'd slate "Put It There" from Flowers in the Dirt into that category.

Yes I have heard Flaming Pie was a good one. He wouldn't want to release a dud after the Anthology.

Yes that did seem to energise him. It’s not a perfect album or anything. It has some clunkers such as Used to Be Bad but The Songs We Were Singing, Calico Skies, Little Willow, Beautiful Night, Souvenir and Young Boy, provide an above average stock of decent songs for one album. And most or other songs are ok too.

Besides RAM, I think its the best one he's ever done.

How about your 2 playlist worthy from each album?  I am curious.

I personally stopped buying his records many decades ago.

But at least he tours and gives people a chance to see a living legend. He is a great showman!

Seeing this thread restarted reminded me of this. Clearly I’m still thinking

I quite  like some of his more recent effforts. There’s a lot to like about New and I still think Egypt Station hangs together well as an album. The only thing I don’t do is play them.

Still... the only one I ever play is McCartney.
I absolutely love that album, but that's the only one I love.

You don't like Coming Up?

The album version is ironically the worst.  The single and live version are far superior.

We've talked about it many times before Kev, but it still baffles me.   ha2ha

I like the quirkiness of the McCartney II version.  It's my favorite version of Coming Up.
