Hi All....as you can see I'm a newbie here, and its probably a bit pretentious to start a new thread without "earning one's stripes", but I couldn't see where this subject has been discussed before, and I thought it might be interesting.
I'd like to introduce myself briefly first - I've been fan since I was about 5. I'm 35 now, I live in Australia and the Beatles inspired me in more ways that I can describe. I've been looking for a sensible, intelligent Beatles board and by Jove, I think I may have found it!
While scrounging around here in the past day or so, I got to thinking about which Beatles songs are forgotten by most fans, but really are great numbers. Y'know, the ones that you hardly
ever hear on the radio or included in compilations, but truly deserve a place alongside the great tunes they crafted.
So I'll start things off with "Hey Bulldog". I think its a great track, has some excellent grooves in it and it sounds fun. I think it suffered a bit as the Beatles always considered it a "throwaway", but not many arrtists at that time cold have afforded to purge a song like that.
Any other ideas?
